Citroën C3 Aircross - a compact front-wheel drive crossover class B-SUV, created based on concept C-Aircross. The presentation of the model took place in June 2017 in Paris. In the line of the French brand, the new C3 Aircross replaced the subcompact van C3 Picasso.
Unlike the eponymous car for South American markets, the European Citroën C3 Aircross is built on an upgraded PSA PF1 platform. This architecture was also used in the development of the hatchback Citroën C3 third generation, however, Aircross is 158 mm longer (4154 mm) and 7 mm wider (1637 mm), and the wheelbase has grown by 64 mm (to 2604 mm). In addition, the crossover received a ground clearance increased by 20 mm and a corresponding “body kit” - linings made of practical unpainted plastic protect wheel arches, sills and, partially, bumpers from minor scratches.
Serial Citroën C3 Aircross adopted from of the C-Aircross concept, a “two-story” front optics (daytime running lights are located on the upper level, and headlights and PTF are located at the bottom), the original design of the rear pillars with horizontal stripes, protective bumper pads and wheel arches with extensions. At the back there are glossy inserts, a large “double chevron”, as well as lanterns with a three-dimensional design.
The developers of the C3 Aircross focused on the possibilities of personalizing the car. Eight exterior and roof colors are available in the Citroën configurator, as well as colored railings, headlight surrounds, rear window decor and wheel center inserts. In addition to this, thematic upholstery options are offered: Urban Red (black fabric, red inserts, leather on the console), Hype Colorado (orange leather inserts and a two-tone steering wheel); Hype Mistral (dark fabric, chrome inserts, leather on the console).
The new Aircross has outgrown the C3 Picasso by 76mm in length, 26mm in width and 64mm in wheelbase. The "basic" volume of the trunk, taking into account the spare wheel in the underground, was 410 liters - not a record figure, but 33 liters more than Renault Captur with the second row seats as far back as possible. In Aircross, the rear seats can also be moved along the rails, and they can be adjusted individually. However, this functionality is provided only for the older configuration. As an additional option, you can order a front passenger seat with a folding backrest for transporting long items of 2.4 meters.
