Citroën C4 Cactus - a restyled version of the hatchback was introduced in October 2017. Updated "Cactus" not only continued the life cycle models, which appeared in 2014, but also temporarily replaced ordinary Citroën C4.
The five-door has received a more utilitarian design: the car has lost most of the branded Airbump protective pads, received new bumpers, modified optics with new blocks of LED daytime running lights, and new horizontal lights at the rear. In addition, the restyled Cactus added 13 mm in length (up to 4170 mm), and also received a wheelbase increased by 5 mm (2600 mm).
Changes in the cabin are less ambitious, the main innovation - the reformed C4 Cactus became the first representative of the brand with seats designed as part of the Citroen Advanced Comfort program. The new chairs are made more “lush”, and are filled with polyurethane foam, as well as viscoelastic or textured foam. The French company claims that such materials better take the shape of the body of the rider and evenly distribute the load. Additional sound insulation and thicker glasses were used to increase acoustic comfort.
A system of automatic braking, reading road signs and monitoring driver fatigue has been added to the list of available equipment for the model. The new iteration of the media complex has acquired Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and MirrorLink functions.
The 2018 model year newcomer is also the first European-spec Citroën to feature motorsport-inspired Progressive Hydraulic Cushions. To improve the smoothness of the ride, a pair of hydraulic buffers are integrated into the shock absorbers, which absorb shock during compression and rebound strokes. Such elements are especially effective on broken roads and at the same time allow the shock absorbers and springs to “dissolve” themselves for stability and smoothness when driving on average and good quality asphalt, when the rod moves in small ranges.
In addition to the previous 1.2-liter gasoline aspirated engines with a capacity of 75 and 82 hp, as well as a turbo unit with a return of 110 hp, a three-cylinder 1.2 PureTech gasoline turbo engine with a capacity of 130 hp appeared in the engine range of the model. It works in tandem with a six-speed manual gearbox. In addition, the restyled five-door is promised 99- and 120-horsepower 1.6 BlueHDi turbodiesels. Transmissions: "mechanics", a basic "robot" with one clutch and a 6-speed "automatic" for a 110-horsepower modification.
