CITROEN representation continues to expand the range of available cars. Now the updated CITROEN C4 is offered in new variations. The model range has been replenished with two advanced turbo engines: PureTech 130 S&S petrol and BlueHDi 120 S&S diesel. In addition, both engines are now offered with the new generation EAT6 6-speed automatic transmission. Cars are already available for buyers.
The CITROEN C4 hatchback is one of the bestsellers of the Brand in the world. Sales of the updated CITROEN C4 started in the spring of 2015 shortly after the presentation at the Geneva Motor Show. The car has become even more stylish and modern, having received a touch screen display, LED headlights and lights, and a number of other improvements. However, the development of the model did not stop there - sales of the updated CITROEN C4 with new engines and a 6-speed automatic transmission started.
The engine range of the updated Citroen C4 was replenished with two engines at once, both of which meet stringent EURO VI toxicity standards. The PureTech 130 Stop & Start gasoline engine reflects the strategy for the further development of the family of compact 3-cylinder engines: this power unit received a turbine and direct fuel injection. And in order to dispel doubts about the reliability and endurance of these engines, their design has been strengthened in all major components: engine block, cylinder head, crankshaft, connecting rods, etc. Thanks to these improvements and innovations, this engine has been awarded an international award " Engine of 2015" in the category from 1 to 1.4 liters.
The BlueHDi 120 Stop & Start diesel engine features a highly efficient exhaust aftertreatment system with an SCR catalyst that drastically reduces emissions of nitrogen oxide (NOx) and other harmful impurities. This, in turn, allowed the designers to focus only on fuel efficiency, as a result of which the BlueHDi 120 S&S engine became more powerful compared to the e-HDi 115 S&S engine (120 hp and 300 Nm versus 115 hp and 270 Nm), while without a significant increase in fuel consumption.
Another important change is that the new engines will be paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission, which was previously offered on the CITROEN DS4 and DS5. The new version of the EAT6 automatic transmission has received a number of improvements compared to the previous generation: a 40% increase in gear shifting speed thanks to the Quick Shift mode (synchronization of the engine and gearbox during a gear change); gear ratios have changed, which made the ride more dynamic in acceleration and more economical when driving at high speed; an additional reduction in fuel consumption was also achieved by reducing friction between the parts of the automatic transmission - other friction discs and an oil pump).
