Citroen C5 - the world premiere of the second generation of the sedan took place in January 2008 at the Brussels Motor Show. The French do not hide the fact that when creating the model they were guided by German cars. That is why the new Citroen C5 turned out to be elegant in French, but at the same time reserved in German. The ergonomics of the cabin have noticeably improved, the level of assembly and the quality of materials have risen.

In 2010, the company added upgraded engines to the range of power plants, and updates in 2012 affected only the branded double chevron on the hood. The edges of the nameplate have become softer.

Four bundles of power units are offered on the Ukrainian market:

• THP 1.6 petrol engine (150 hp, 240 Nm) + six-speed "mechanics";

• THP 1.6 petrol engine (150 hp, 240 Nm) + six-speed automatic;

• turbodiesel TDI 2.0 (163 hp, 340 Nm) + six-speed automatic;

• TDI 2.2 turbodiesel (204 hp, 450 Nm) + six-speed automatic.

The type of suspension will depend on the choice of the unit. Versions with a gasoline engine and a manual gearbox rely on a conventional spring. But on modifications with a gasoline engine and automatic transmission, as well as on diesel versions, Hydractive III + air suspension is installed. Thanks to her, the clearance between the road and the body is adjustable in four preset modes: 110, 160 (standard), 200 and 215 mm.

Serial production of the Citroen C5 has been launched in the French city of Rennes.
