Citroen DS5 - the world premiere of the model took place in 2011 at the Shanghai Motor Show. The car is based on a platform that is used by several PSA Peugeot Citroen models at once, in particular Citroen C4, Peugeot 308 And 3008. However, it has been changed for the DS5. The wheelbase was lengthened to 2722 mm, the wheel tracks were widened. In addition, the car received reconfigured springs and shock absorbers, increased in diameter anti-roll bars. A lot of time was devoted to fine-tuning the steering, which was made clearer.
Separate words deserve the exterior and interior of the model. The body is full of interesting details. Why are there only L-shaped chrome lining over the front fenders and concave lights. They did not stint on the by no means cheap stamping, the original lines of which are located not only on the sidewalls and hood, but also on massive bumpers.
The interior design is reminiscent of aircraft cockpits. In the middle and top configuration, the Citroen DS5 receives a three-section panoramic roof, each sector of which has its own electrified curtain. For a surcharge, you can order leather upholstery, which repeats the style of watch bracelets.
The car is offered in three trim levels: Chic, So Chic and Sport Chic. Each option has its own set of options. Nevertheless, already in the initial version, the DS5 receives the entire range of available passive and active safety systems, including a stability control system, hill start assistance, front, side and curtain airbags. The "base" also includes 17-inch wheels, LED daytime running lights, cruise control with speed limiter, rain and light sensors, a dimming center rear-view mirror, heated front seats, dual-zone climate control, a CD/MP3 audio system with 6 speakers and AUX, USB connectors.
Among the additional equipment that is offered for the middle and top configurations, there is a data projection on a transparent display in front of the windshield, adaptive bi-xenon headlights, a seven-inch color display, a rear-view camera, a Denon Hi-Fi audio system with 8 speakers, an amplifier and a subwoofer.
In the European market, five power plants are available for the Citroen DS5: two petrol, two diesel and a hybrid. The range of engines for Ukraine includes only two of them:
petrol "four" THP 1.6 (150 hp, 240 Nm) with direct injection and turbocharger. The motor was developed jointly with BMW and is used not only in Citroen and Peugeot cars, but also in MINI;
turbodiesel HDi 2.0 (163 hp, 340 Nm).
The gearbox for both engines is a six-speed automatic.
