Citroën company introduced the third generation of the C3 front-wheel drive hatchback in June 2016, and its public presentation took place in October at the Paris Motor Show. Citroën C3 received a fundamentally new exterior and interior design, and also borrowed from the model C4 Cactus protective "pillows" AirBump.
The “third” Citroën C3 is built on a modernized PSA concern PF1 chassis. Compared to its predecessor, the C3 is 55mm longer (3996mm), 21mm wider (1749mm excluding mirrors) and 50mm lower (1474mm). The wheelbase has been increased by 74 mm to 2540 mm. The volume of the trunk has not changed and is 300 liters with the backrests of the second row raised. For comparison, at Ford Fiesta the specified parameter is 276 l, and for Volkswagen Polo - 280 l. In this case, the back row in C3 is folded in the proportion of 1/3 - 2/3. With the backrests folded down, the volume of the cargo compartment increases to 922 liters.
For the new Citroen C3, various personalization options are offered: a single-color or combined body color, with or without AirBumps overlays, with “neutral” or “warm” interior design accents. When changing iterations, there were fewer buttons on the front panel of the C3 - traditional switches replaced icons in the 7-inch touchscreen display of the multimedia complex. In addition, the novelty received as an option an HD-camera ConnectedCam - a built-in DVR mounted on the rear-view mirror.
The Citroën C3 entered our market with two 1.2L three-cylinder petrol engines. The initial unit develops 82 hp. and combined with a mechanical five-step. C3 with this engine and gearbox accelerates from 0 to 100 km / h in 13 seconds, top speed is 168 km / h, and fuel consumption in the combined cycle is 4.7 l / 100 km. The second engine is turbocharged, with a stop / start system. It produces 110 hp. and works in tandem with a 6-speed "automatic". Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h takes 9.8 seconds, top speed reaches 188 km/h and combined cycle fuel consumption is 5.2 l/100 km.
