Citroen DS4 - the world premiere of the hatchback took place at the Paris Motor Show in 2010. In a certain sense, designers and engineers managed to fit three models at once in one car. Indeed, in a non-trivial hatchback, you can find both the features of a coupe and the off-road makings of a crossover. It's all about the unusual design, in which small rear doors are visually hidden, as well as increased ground clearance to 170 mm. Although it was not without a fly in the ointment - because of the design of the rear doors, the windows do not fall into them.

Despite the fact that the car is built on the same platform as the Citroen C4, that is, with a McPherson suspension in front and a torsion beam in the rear, its driving characteristics have been completely changed. The DS4 has a slightly longer wheelbase, 2612 versus 2608mm, and a slightly narrower track. In addition, the premium five-door received retuned springs, shock absorbers and steering.

In addition, a more powerful range of engines has been prepared for the Citroen DS4. Their list depends on the selected configuration, and gearboxes are assigned to certain engines. The following bundles of power units are available to buyers:

• 1.6-liter petrol turbo engine (120 hp, 160 Nm) + five-speed "mechanics";

• 1.6-liter petrol turbo engine (150 hp, 240 Nm) + six-speed automatic;

• 1.6-liter petrol turbo engine (200 hp, 275 Nm) + six-speed "mechanics";

• 2-liter turbodiesel (163 hp, 375 Nm) + six-speed automatic.

Already in the initial configuration, the Citroen DS4 receives all possible passive and active safety systems: front, side and curtain airbags, hill-climbing assistance, road stability, anti-lock brakes, brake force distribution and emergency braking assistance.
